A pathway to personal development.
We Are Loud Charitable Trust uses musical education to open doors for students who would otherwise be unable to access them — providing scholarships, instruments, and an inclusive space for everyone to learn.
What we do
The purpose of We Are Loud Charitable Trust is to use musical education as a pathway to personal development for students who would otherwise be unable to access those opportunities.
The Trust aims to:
- Provide fully or partially subsidised music lessons for students who face financial constraints and, where necessary, access to instruments and resources to enhance their learning
- Develop a music education and development programme that builds positive self-image and self-confidence in students, and provide scholarships to students otherwise unable to access those opportunities
- Provide a safe and inclusive space within the community for students awarded scholarships and for those who deliver those services
- Ensure that those providing these services are appropriately trained to deliver services to students with diverse needs
- Provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose
Our approach
We Are Loud operates as a social enterprise. The music studio (We Are Loud Ltd) provides high-quality music lessons to the community. The Charitable Trust works alongside the studio to ensure students who face financial or other barriers can still access those lessons.
Scholarship students attend the same lessons, in the same studio, with the same teachers as all other students. There is no separate programme or visible distinction — every student is treated equally and with dignity.
Our teachers are highly trained, police-vetted musicians and educators with experience supporting neurodiverse, disabled, and rainbow students. The studio's inclusive values are embedded in how we teach, not just what we say.
Theory of change
Our theory of change is built on a simple premise: access to quality music education improves the lives of young people. When financial, cultural, or accessibility barriers are removed, students develop confidence, self-expression, community connection, and a sense of purpose that extends well beyond music.
Inputs: Charitable funding, scholarship funds, donated instruments, trained teachers, inclusive studio space.
Activities: Fully and partially subsidised private and group music lessons across singing, piano, guitar, drums, violin, and more. Provision of instruments and learning materials where needed.
Outputs: Number of students funded, hours of tuition delivered, instruments provided, lesson materials supplied.
Outcomes: Improved self-confidence and self-image. Increased sense of community and belonging. Development of creative skills and discipline. Reduced social isolation.
Impact: Young people from underserved communities have equitable access to high-quality music education, enabling personal growth and long-term wellbeing.
